Weekend Locks for Dec 28-29
My "Can't-Miss" recommendations for tomorrow and Sunday.

What an amazing December!
This month will go down as one of the best December’s, probably dating back to 2016.
Bayou Bienville, MRGO Rocks, ICW, Causeway, Trestles, and Twin Spans have all been producing limits of specks.
Not to mention all the other species of fish being taken - Blue cats and sheepshead everywhere.
We’re even seeing big white trout show up which is uncharacteristic of December.
Let’s get to the locks!

Eden Isles
This weekend, we’re going to step away from the addiction to the Great Wall and go with a freezer-filling trip.
Have you been paying attention to what’s going on over in the Eden Isles subdivision canals?
I heard from four people this week who have caught over 50 white trout in a few hours.
Two were fishing from their dock and two from a boat, in the vicinity of the launch.
The average fish were between 12-14 inches with even a few 15-inchers mixed in.
Here’s the plan.
Launch at The Pointe and fish all of the main intersections from the launch to the lake.
Anything will work: live shrimp, dead shrimp, cut pogey — I even heard from one guy who drop-shotted Bobby Garland crappie jigs tipped with yellow Gulp Crappie Nibbles.
Fish deep water in the center of the channels. No shoreline fishing.
Then, scoot on out to the Tresltes and try to add a few specks to the box. The warmer weather should have that water prime in the low 60s.
This weekend, we have a weak tidal range (0.5), so you're going to have to get out there early to be able to fish the falling tide until it bottoms out at 10 a.m.
The winds on Saturday are forecasted at 12 mph as a weak front comes through plus there’s a 60% chance of rain.
Sunday will be the better day to make the run to the train bridge if the forecast holds.

White Kitchen
Sure, we can catch some marsh bass, but the sac-a-lait bite is hot right now in White Kitchen Preserve off Hwy 90.
The entire lake, which is the result of flooding after Katrina, is only 6 feet deep in most places. So this isn’t your typical deep water wintertime sac-a-lait jigging.
In White Kitchen, it’s all about finding structure on the bottom — ANY STRUCTURE!
the lake isn’t like the rivers where it has tons of laydowns, treetops, and trash on the bottom, but there are a few brush piles in there.
Don’t be afraid to use corks — just rig them deep between 4-5 feet.
Bobby Garland's 2-inch Baby Shad in the Diamond Mist colors has been the ticket.
Bring along a few shiners to help find the fish, then switch over to plastic after you’re on them.
Saturday will be the better day as the pressure will be dropping all day but there’s a 60% chance of rain.
